YouTube - Will it make you famous? - The stats
Before Facebook, before MySpace, before Twitter, and before any of the other social media networks really caught fire the way that they have there was YouTube.
Allowing just about anyone who had video footage the ability to upload the files to their servers, share it with all of their friends, family, and even complete and total strangers, YouTube has become one of the most visited websites on the face of the planet. With a dedicated user base that watches close to 3 billion hours of video each and every single month, this is the kind of targeted traffic that you want to put your marketing messages in front of on a regular basis.
There are literally hundreds of millions of people logging into YouTube to watch billions of hours of video each and every single month.
Maybe the most impressive thing about YouTube is the simple fact that so many people continue to upload incredible content day after day – at a rate of 60 hours of video uploaded each and every single minute a round-the-clock every single day – with no signs of things slowing down at any point in time.
This creates an almost constant flow of refreshed in brand-new content, bringing users who have gotten hooked onto the site back time and time again. Not only does this create the potential for viral status of all your content, but it also allows you to tap into the power of repetition simply because people will be exposed to your videos time and time again.
With 800 million unique visits to the site each and every single month and 4 billion videos being viewed every single day, the odds are fantastic that your content is going to begin to pop up in front of people at a rapid rate. This allows you to jump onto the speeding train that is YouTube, positioning yourself in front of billions of people with very little real effort on your behalf.
YouTube is not just a smash hit in the one Country
A truly global entity, almost 70% of YouTube visitors come from outside the borders of America – allowing you to tap into underdeveloped and under leveraged marketplaces with extreme precision and very little effort on your behalf. With 42 different localized versions of YouTube for specific countries and 54 total languages that YouTube has been translated into, you’ll be able to become a global and multinational entity just by putting your content onto the service.
This allows for fantastic reach and amazing opportunities, especially if you can coax your viewers to make your content viral. With “Charlie bit my finger” coming in at the top spot as the most viewed video on the platform – with right around 500 million views and counting – the potential for your business to increase just by getting 1 million or more fuse is astounding.
Sure, you’ll have to pay close attention to the video content that you produce, but the tools and technologies to do just that have dropped so much in price that anyone can run their own professional production studio – or higher each and every aspect of it out – for pennies on the dollar.
